Bimaa blog hop

bimaa-tie1-(1-of-1)

I am a big fan of LouBee clothing patterns.  And this hoodie is now on the short list of "always make these for Murphy".  He adores this shirt.  He wears it as soon as it comes out of the dryer.  sweet kid.

The wonderful thing about Sarah's patterns is their versatility.  The designs are such that you don't have to make skinnies for little girls only.  Murphy still loves his hosh pants.  There are several more pair coming up during KCW....
This pattern goes together perfectly. It all fits just as it should.  The shoulders hit my skinny bean pole perfect, which is hard for him.  I topstitched all my seams because my serger is on the fritz. I also like the look of the seaming that way.  The Bimaa pattern is incredibly versatile with 3 collar finishes and sizes 12 month- 6years. That's a nice big range. I also did up the shawl collar, but, my sweatshirt fleece choice did not have any real stretch, and so, had to be modified a lot to get it over little mans head.  He loves it 'cause its soft on the inside, but it isn't as neat as this little number.

I had just gotten this awesome neon orange mustache knit when Sarah asked me to be a part of the Bimaa tour, so I knew it was to be a part of this top.  Then I thought about it being picture day at school, and doing something a little more to personalize it for my kid.  The tie applique was a natural next step. I drew the shape and used Wonder Under to hold it while I appliqued.  I used the mustaches to contrast on the cuffs and the waist also, although the waist band area is hard to see in these pics.

Its my birthday today!  Sarah has offered up a digital copy for you! just leave a comment for your chance to win!  The giveaway will go through the 19th, and a winner will be randomly selected and emailed. So, please leave your email in the comment if your profile does not have one.
