day 27: fabric plus furniture

I knew getting into this that I would be needing a lot of certain things...
I know I will be using a lot of mod podge throughout this next year, so I bought the big elmers, and started mixing my own...

I will be experimenting with lots of glues, but this project required mod podge...
I needed a fair amount for this project too...

I have a corner cabinet that I like, and it needed some paint, and I thought it would be really awesome if I used some pretty fabric to make the back really interesting.
of course, who knew I would find so many interesting things that were hanging out just beyond vacuum distance...

that kitten... i tell you what...
I painted it all white, then cut the fabric and mod podge the bejeezus outta it. its not perfect.  it has some wrinkles...
I am not sure if I like it.  I feel like it would be great in a nursery, but maybe its off because I am envisioning it after I repaint the interior of the house...
what do you think?

do you ever wonder about peoples collections?  well, these are my favorite most used cookbooks.  but why 2 betty crocker?  the one on the top shelf is an antique (first edition) that even has the original gift letter as it was someone's wedding present.

yes, that is hugh the borg. he was a funny gift I gave to my stepdad 20 years ago.  when he died, mom asked me if I wanted it and I said sure.  goes well with all the other odd memories, yes?

  1. I love vintage cookbooks! My favorite ever is a first edition Betty Crocker that was my Nana Jane's. I use it often, plus how else would I know how to braise a squirrel nor make tuna jello molds?
