day 11: vinyl window drawstring baggie

I didn't actually intend this bag for onions, but I quite like it.  This way when I send lee to the pantry for onions they are hanging right at his face!

my little drawing is hard to see, but if you click on it, it should enlarge...
This is what I did:
I placed the vinyl on the wrong side of the fabric and stitched it down.  then I turned the fabric over and cut the fabric from where I stitched the vinyl to the back.  I used pinking shears to give it texture and prevent fraying.  Then I stitched it down again from the front.
I ironed the top hem over twice to the width of my drawstring.  I stitched this down leaving room for my drawstring which I threaded through after seaming.  what you will be doing is folding the bag in half at the bottom with right sides together.  I clipped a little hole on the top for the drawstring at the folded edge so I could sew down the other ends of the drawstring in the side seam.
After the drawstring (if its understandable), fold in half right sides together and stitch the side and bottom.
tada!

  1. You clever gal... adding vinyl (why didn't I think of that?!). Keep up the crafting! I can't wait to see what you make next.... ;)
