feelin like a rock star in my own backyard

okay, technically its Friday. I have insomnia and my brain is whirring away... Just in case I end up ahead of the game, and craft all night, here is a little how to:
The inspiration for this shirt comes from PS I made this.
after the lovely ribbone scrap rosette hair piecce, I went exploring that blog and found SO MANY things to take inspiration from. I had this nasty old white t shirt I had dyed gray a while ago, so I took some jersey scraps that coordinated and put it together. The zipper rosettes idea started for me here , at The Crimson Owl and have taken on the corsage effect. The zippers are removable so I can put this shirt through the wash. I think its a pretty basic idea. Couple tips:
1. to make a ruffle simply: Set your sewing machine to the longest basting stitch available. Stitch down the center of your strip backstitching at one end and leaving long tails at the other. Then you pull the bobbin thread until you get the ribbon effect you want.
2. Jersey is always easier to sew with a Ball Point needle
3. You can either hand stitch this in its entirety or use a machine. Just make sure your ruffle is secured well before throwing in the washer.

There are ruffles everywhere, Anthropologie inspiration abounds. It seems there are quite a few of us that can make it instead of buy it...
